The A7 Corsair is a classic carrier jet with the distinctive air intake under the cockpit, high wing design and single engine layout. Our kit is constructed from a very close cell EPS foam, similar to helmet foam, much harder and more dense than regular kits like GWS etc. The fit of the parts is superb; easily one of the best kits on the market, the design keeps with the scale look of the jet while at the same time providing a very stable platform.
Cockpit is pre-moulded two piece and will take our Wemotec jet pilot, the perfect finish for this scale looking model. Rudder can be cut out and fitted as an option. The kit comes pre painted in grey and white, with a black nosecone. There are many options for painting the A7 and we recommend using Tamiya acrylic paints Intake ducting is slightly reduced at the inlet in order to maintain the scale look. We do not recommend cutting any cheater holes as this detracts from the clean lines of the Corsair. Thrust is down slightly over the F16 when using the same power system but the overall performance and flight characteristics of the A7 overcome this small speed loss! POWER SETUP OPTIONS ● XF MEGAPOWER FAN WITH 210-8XL MOTOR for 4 cells, superb entry level flight with speeds around 70-80mph! We do not recommend 3 cells with this setup due the aircraft weight. You can use battery packs ranging from our EXP1800 4s1p 20c up to the GP2200 4s1p 25c. Great all round jet suitable for starting out in EDF through to intermediate ● EXTREME RC-70 FAN WITH 2W TYPHOON MOTOR is the first of the 70mm performance packages and is designed to allow users to stick with their 3 cell batteries. This setup pulls 40 amps in our ERC70 fan unit and puts out around 15% less power than the 3W setup below. Good for 80mph on quality 2200-2500 3 cell packs. Recommended only for those who want to utilize 3 cell packs in a higher performance setup ● HET6904 WITH HET 3W TYPHOON MOTOR running on our new GP2200 4s1p 25c cells has great performance, capable of up to 90mph level flight with good climb rate. Running between 450 and 550 watts depending on battery used, this is our best overall performance package for the A7, can be run flat out for most of the flight, decent amp draw gives good combo of flight time and power. More advanced setup with great performance, our No’ 1 choice! ● HET6904 FAN UNIT WITH 2W20 TYPHOON MOTOR is the POWERHOUSE setup and gives awesome performance of 100+mph, more care is needed with batteries as this setup pulls 47-50A / 700 watts, you cannot fly full throttle all the time unless you want to replace your battery packs regularly! LIGHTNING 60A esc is needed in this setup. With mixed flying of 50% WOT and 50% cruising around you can get 5-6 minute flights and the batteries come out at only 40+/- degrees. No guarantee on battery life if you fly this setup flat out all the time! All out Extreme setup suitable for advanced flyers! With our new Extreme Power GP2200 25c packs pumping out incredible power, staying much cooler than previous cell designs, and at such affordable prices, fast jets are a reality!
A7 CORSAIR SPECIFICATIONS The Kit comprises complete airframe with carbon fibre tubes for wing bracing, all horns, pushrods & ezy connectors included. Comes with a full 2 page decal set for 3 different versions of the A7. The Kit requires two 60cm extension leads, one 15cm extension lead, and one Y lead. The ailerons can be set up with conventional Y lead, this leaves your 5^th or 6^th channel available for mixing the elevator servos together. If you do not have a radio with mixing functions you will need a Servo Revering Y lead. We currently do not have these devices but are working on sourcing them in the near future. Our recommendations are to use mixing though as it is much safer and more effective! The 4 cell setup requires our ULTIMATE UBEC unit to run the servos and Rx.
